Training Opportunities
Credit hours will follow the MASMS standards, that are used for the certification program. Online training offered by the Metro ECSU and Service Cooperatives will be recorded as 100% for credit hours. All other online training will be recorded as 25% of credit hours.
If you choose to take any of the classes/workshops (listed here or others that you find), you must email the MASMS office with the following info:
- Your Name and Email Address
- The date you took the online course.
- Title of the course and who offered it.
- Length of the course.

OSHA-Based Operator Safety Training
Southern Minnesota Inspection offers on-site, in-person, hands-on operator safety training.
With over 30 + years of experience, we offer cost-efficient and knowledge-based operator training.
The course is under 3 hours, with up to 10 Students, and emphasizes the safe operation of Material Handling and Safety Equipment per ANSI and OSHA.
Training Courses offered include;
Forklift Operator training,
MEWP or Aerial Lift Operator Training,
Hoist Operator Training and
Authorized User Fall protection training.
Cost: $100.00 per student plus travel and mileage to the site.

In Person 2 Day Boiler License Preparation Class | Located at Resource Training and Solutions
September 15th and 16th, 2021

We currently can hold up to 20 participants but if we get a lot of interest we’ll look to add more class dates for the heating season. If people are attempting to register and it says the class is full they can contact me at jbaumann@resourcecoop-mn.gov and I’ll get them on a waiting list.
Additionally, we are members of MASMS and appreciate the organization. We are offering a discount for this class in the amount of $10. To receive the MASMS discount enter code “MASMS” in the discount field during registration to reduce the cost of the event by $10 per person.

Metro ESCU
- Monthly meetings are going virtual for now. They will provide links prior to each webinar. If you currently do not receive information from Metro ESCU, please contact them at 612-638-1512 to request the information
- Metro ESCU is able to offer unlicensed registered electrician training virtually via Zoom. If you have staff who are interested, please let them know how many and we will set up a class.
